Quitaque is a small town
approximately 90 miles southeast of Amarillo, Tx.
The major industry around Quitaque is farming and ranching.
One of the major points of interest is Caprock Canyons State Park, four miles north of Quitaque. The15,000 acre State park offers fishing, camping, biking and hiking opportunities to tourists.
Another place popular to both visitors and Quitaque residents is the 50 mile long trail from Estelline to South Plains. Although the trail is closed to motorized vehicles, hikers and bikers can enjoy picturesque scenery as well as a walk through what was the last operating railroad tunnel in Texas.
