At the 2000 Fort Worth Stock Show in January, he won Calf Roping, Heeling and Steer Stopping.

The year 2000 has been good for Calico Quanah's offspring, when Colonel Quanah,
owned by Richard Agan of Trenton, Texas, and shown by Gray Wells of Lone Grove, Oklahoma,
turned in a list of wins in the 2000 World Championship Paint Horse Show to capture the:

OSCAR CRIGLER CATTLE AWARD, the SUPER GELDING AWARD and the
HIGH-POINT WESTERN PERFORMANCE HORSE AWARD



Colonel Quanah's performance highlighted the 2000 APHA World Show
shown above on the cover of the September 2000 issue of the Paint Horse Journal.

 

Colonel Quanah earned a total of 60 points in Junior Heeling, as well as earning
a World Championship in Junior Steer Stopping and a
Reserve World Championship in Junior Calf Roping.

  Agan showed Colonel Quanah, a 1996 black tobiano gelding by
Calico Quanah and out of Freckles Lady Doll (QH), in Amateur competition
winning a World Championship in Amateur Steer Stopping.
